Helsinki International Model United Nations HELIMUN ry is a student run, non-profit organisation registered in Helsinki, Finland. HELIMUN ry arranges an annual, international Model United Nations conference for secondary school students. HELIMUN conferences provide an unique opportunity for students to practice their public speaking and language skills and deepen their understanding of contemporary international issues and the work of United Nations.

XX Annual Session (2020)

The XX Annual Session of HELIMUN will be held in Kulosaari Secondary School May 5-6, 2020.

The theme of the XX Annual Session is Safety & Security.

HELIMUN 2016 Appointments

The Conference Manager for HELIMUN 2016 is Mr Emil Aaltonen. On September 28 Mr Johannes Raami was appointed Assistant Conference Manager.

The Executive Student Officers were appointed as follows; Mr Tomi Sirola Secretary General (SG), Ms Aino Kiiveri Deputy Secretary General (DSG) and Mr Nicholas Colb President of the General Assembly (PGA).

Delegation Assignments

The following schools will be participating in HELIMUN 2015:
Maunula Lower Secondary School, the German School of Helsinki, the International School of Helsinki, the Anglo-American School of Moscow, Espoo International School, Ressu Upper Secondary School, Ressu Lower Secondary School and Kulosaari Secondary School.

All other schools except Kulosaari will be informed their delegation assignments by Friday Feb 14. Kulosaari students will get their delegation assignments after February 23.

XV Annual Session

The XV Annual Session of HELIMUN will be held May 6-7, 2015. The theme for the XV Annual Session is 'Sustainable Development'.

We are honoured to inform that Ms Inka Länsimäki has been appointed the Secretary-General and Ms Nana Dufie the Deputy Secretary-General for the XV Annual Session. Congratulations!

The International Court of Justice will tackle the case 'the Marshall Islands vs the nine nuclear states'.
